BlogsThe Truth About SucraloseSubmitted by shannon on Fri, 05/16/2008 - 20:34.Sucralose was first introduced in the U.S in 1998. After nearly 35 years of extensive research, it was approved by the FDA. If you have ever had a question about something and, like most people, turned to the internet to find answers, you might find that the information you read is conflicting with other information you have read or heard. Here at VitaMist we guarantee not only the purest, safest ingredients, we guarantee that our product will provide you with the nutritional fulfillment your body needs for optimum health and vitality – And that's our promise. Sucralose has an excellent safety profile. More than 100 scientific studies conducted over a 20-year period demonstrate that sucralose is safe for use as a sweetening ingredient. The data from the studies were independently evaluated by international experts in a variety of scientific disciplines, including toxicology, oncology, teratology, neurology, hematology, pediatrics and nutrition. More importantly, comprehensive toxicology studies, designed to meet the highest scientific standards, have clearly demonstrated that sucralose is not carcinogenic. In our product, the amount of sucralose used in a single daily serving of your favorite vitamin is the equivalent of the size of the tip of a ball point pen. Among the regulatory bodies that have evaluated the safety of sucralose are the U.S. FDA, the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA); the Health Protection Branch of Health and Welfare Canada; Food Standards Australia/New Zealand, the European Union’s Scientific Committee on Food, and a host of others in South America and Asia. Sucralose is now permitted for use in over 60 countries. In fact, sucralose is the sweetening ingredient in over 3,500 products worldwide. You can find sucralose in a wide variety of products, including soft drinks, ice cream, dairy products, sports and weightloss nutritional snacks, and baked goods. Although sucralose is made from a process that starts with sugar, it is not a sugar nor does the body recognize it as a carbohydrate. Sucralose is not broken down for energy in the body so it has no calories. The sucralose molecule passes through the body unchanged, is not metabolized, and is eliminated after consumption. Because it is about 600 times as sweet as table sugar, at VitaMist, we use only a miniscule amount to ensure you are getting a pleasant tasting vitamin. You are not alone.
Most of us can relate to memory lapses: Trying to recall a name during a conversation, forgetting where we parked the car, leaving the grocery list at home and not being able to recall all four items on the list. Sometimes we even miss meetings or appointments, because they "just slipped our minds." These kinds of memory lapses can happen to anyone at any age, but our first reaction tends to be embarrassment as we get older. For the most part our fleeting memory difficulties result from normal age-related changes in the brain that slow some cognitive processes.
Two-thirds of us will probably have age-related memory changes as we get older. These changes are considered normal, but they can be quite frustrating when we need to learn new skills on or off the job, juggle work and family, or take on new responsibilities in the community.
I have found this product that helps my father, who is 76 years young, and also myself. Celiac DiseaseSubmitted by jessica on Tue, 05/06/2008 - 20:18.I would like to create awareness about a condition called celiac disease. In 2007 I was diagnosed with a disorder that was making my life miserable. Not only was I malnourished, I was dealing with a list of uncomfortable ailments from gas and abdominal pain to fatigue, muscle cramps, and mood swings; I had been dealing with this for almost 2 years. I made many trips to the doctor and had blood taken, then a small bowel biopsy. And finally, the results showed I had a problem. Celiac disease is a digestive disease that damages the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food. When people with celiac disease eat foods or use products containing gluten, their immune system responds by damaging the small intestine. The tiny, fingerlike protrusions lining the small intestine are damaged or destroyed. Called villi, they normally allow nutrients from food to be absorbed into the bloodstream. Without healthy villi, a person becomes malnourished, regardless of the quantity of food eaten. Recognizing celiac disease can be difficult because some of its symptoms are similar to those of other diseases. In fact, sometimes celiac disease is confused with irritable bowel syndrome, iron-deficiency anemia caused by menstrual blood loss, Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, intestinal infections, and chronic fatigue syndrome. As a result, celiac disease is commonly underdiagnosed or misdiagnosed. Celiac disease is a genetic disease, meaning it runs in families. In the US, about 1 in 133 people have it, and among people who have parents, siblings, or children of people who have been diagnosed with celiac disease, as many as 1 in 22 people may have the disease. In order to stay well, people with celiac disease must avoid gluten for the rest of their lives and take nutritional supplements via bloodstream, or the buccal mucosa. Some people with celiac disease, including myself, show no improvement on the gluten-free diet. I was advised to visit a doctor monthly for nutritional shots to avoid malnutrition because I was not absorbing nutrients no matter how much I ate. The shots became a hassling expense and I was unable to pay for them after I got laid off 6 months ago. I was without proper supplementation for what seems like an eternity until I was at a sports bar one night and happened to be educated on the VitaMist product by a customer who actually sells them here where I live. I have been taking the Core Four for about 3 months now and feel as good, if not better, than when I was getting the expensive injections. It really is amazing that vitamins play such an important roll in life. Before I was diagnosed, I was so drained of energy and just miserable, I would have never thought that taking vitamins would improve the symptoms I was having. Although there is no cure for what I have, I am able to maintain a healthy, active life with the help of your products. The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) conducts and supports research on celiac disease. As of yet, there is no cure, however, they are engineering enzymes designed to battle this digestive disease.
